The book is different in that it breaks with the tradition of how you're supposed to read a book. You can flick the pages in this book and pick any page for inspiration on what to do in your business, and you can set to work right away on implementation.
Everything is short and language is fresh—this is really a book for the ‘Facebook generation’. While the book delivers massive value in the hands of the readers, this is to some extent the ‘front-line’ for a super-affordable video course, so the ebook version will get very wide distribution.
I have already put the book in front of people as diverse as bank managers, radio station hosts and business leaders and they've all said "when can I have it?"
The book is a picture book. Yes every single page has a picture on it. I did test a tapestry of all the images as the cover but that ended up looking rather confused. :)
Requirements: Front and back cover for printed book. 210 mm tall. 135 mm wide. Spine approx 16 mm. Front cover only for eBook version. Same dimensions unless you suggest otherwise.
So what's the visual cues?
This is wide open. I have deliberately not included any visuals. If you want to see a pic of me there are plenty out there (look me up on Linkedin to see what I have done in the past). At the moment my preliminary cover just has an up-trending chart with an arrow at the end. Very simple.
- It needs to make the book feel light. Yes it's a business book, but this has to be fun.
- It needs to be legible on a mini-pic on Amazon.
- the design needs to convey the transformational nature of the book
- I'm a sucker for really strong use of typography
- I am a very big believer of branding, and this will be my most prominent piece of self-branding to date.
- The design needs to give hope/inspiration to both men and women, to show strength/direction, be clear and sophisticated
- while this a book about business it's very much a book about life, claiming your life back.
Business owners 20 - 40 years of age, with a bias towards female readers. Worldwide English-speaking. We're looking for people who actually read to improve their lot, and are willing to do what needs to be done to get their business into gear. Facebook, SEO and OPL are just some of the ways the word will be spread.
