The book is a non-fiction book about personal finance. The book is targeted for high school students and it is important that the cover appeals to that specific age group. The subject matter, personal finance, is serious, but the way the book is written simplifies the material to make it simplified and less intimidating and I am hoping that the cover can do the same. Generally, I would like the look of the cover to be simple and clean, but cool for the demographic. I would like the title to be big and readable, with the primary subtitle also being easily noticed. I do not prefer photographs, so believe I would prefer illustrations or vector art.
The 'Pizza' in the title is what you can do with the money as opposed to the money itself. Many personal finance books are all about the money (i.e., becoming a millionaire), but this book is about the things you can do with the money (whether it be buying video games, smart phones, make-up, concerts, cars, houses, tablets, coffees, shoes, traveling, giving to charity, saving for college, saving to be an entrepreneur, allowing you to work less so you can spend time with friends and family, early retirement, have less stress, etc.) in addition to the money. Pizza also serves as a metaphor for learning the foundational concepts of personal finance: saving (crust), investing (sauce), debt (cheese).
I have attached a few images. The first two are formats to consider (either side to side or centered....note that these subtitles are out of date). The Shake Shack logo is simple, clean and cool, in my opinion so a good example. The dollar sign in a simple circle is a style that I have seen a lot lately that could work as well. Feel free to be creative. Maybe pizza is the art, maybe not. If pizza, maybe it is a slice, half or whole pizza. Maybe the pizza is on its own or in the words (i.e., whole pizza is the letter O in MORE). Thank you so much in advance!
