Target audience is Generation X parents (30-to-50-somethings); primarily women with children. A strong secondary audience is people in Oklahoma and specifically, the Oklahoma City community.
Was inspiriert Sie und wie stellen Sie sich das Design für Ihr Unternehmen vor?
I am a longtime blogger and would like an original blog header created that better reflects my personal brand. It should be no wider than 900 px and between 125 and 190 px in height.
My blog is about generations so I would like something illustrated that shows a chronological progression through the decades of my life beginning with my birth in 1967 up to present day. This can be done through a series of small cultural touchstones that are significant to Generation X. (Eating cold cereal and watching Saturday morning cartoons; watching the Space Shuttle Blow up; latchkey kids; parents' divorce; Berlin Wall coming down; Desert Storm; Constant economic woes; Iranian Hostage Crisis; Nuclear war threats; John Hughes Movies; Madonna; 99 Luftballoon/Nuclear War; the film The Red Balloon. Many more references are on my blog.) I am a busy working mother with three children - two elementary, one high school. I am married. I would like my family included in this illustration as well as my exciting portfolio career. I am involved in many things within the Public Relations arena including advocacy, cause marketing and lobbying. I work in and around the Oklahoma State Capitol so that building might play well as some component. I am a local radio commentator, so a header that reflects the OKC community is imperative. I write a lot about life in OKC. It could just be something relating to Oklahoma. I live in an historic neighborhood called Heritage Hills. There are pictures of the historical markers online. That might play well in some fashion as I'm very into historic preservation and urban living. All of this dovetails the overarching theme of GENERATIONS. My kids are all Generation Z. My husband is also a Gen Xer. The original name of my blog was Are You There God? It's Me, Generation X. My faith journey has always been part of my blog, but it does not dominate it. Somehow this should be included, also. I realize this is a tall order, but for the right designer, I know it can all be brought together. Also, I have a logo I'd like to have worked in. It was done by a local ad agency. I'm not in love with the colors, but they're OK. Again, this doesn't need to dominate and I'm open to suggestions. I am hoping through this project to establish a long-term relationship with a designer. There are several more projects I would like to launch including a couple of new landing pages. My blog is fairly successful and I would be willing to feature the winning designer on my site with links to your work. Thank you for reading my design brief.
I've uploaded a design sample I like. It's afrom a now defunct blog. I found it through wayback machine and screenshotted the header. It's a little tall for my taste and I prefer a white background, but this is what I'm imagining in regard to all those small elements I'd like to bring together.
I did a branding exercise that revealed a few things I want people to know and feel when they come to my blog. I want them to know that I have survived a lot of tough times and challenges in my life and they can, too. I thank God for every day I'm alive. I cherish life. I am so happy to be raising my children. My favorite Bible verse is the Lord Restores the Years the Locust Have Eaten. That doesn't need to be included, but restoration and overcoming are themes on my blog. I truly am grateful for all that I've been through that has led me to my career and my precious children. And, I love Oklahoma very much. The red dirt, the blue skies, the crazy weather. This has been home for a long time -- 30 years. I was born, however, in Los Angeles.
