We think of this as a teaching diagram--so we are trying to get across core concepts. This is somewhat different from a traditional "infographic" where you are trying to convey large quantities of data.
The words Purpose, Kinship, Guidance, Balance should appear in different quadrants. We think we’d like an image to go along with each one, but we’re not sure what. We’d like the image to evoke some emotion, since any of our previous designs (see below) lacked emotional pop.
Kinship - Kinship relationships are those people close to us, who have our back, who we can count on, and who really know us. They support us in good times and bad, and they’re often the people who can be honest with us even when we’re off track. [bonding and belonging]
Purpose - Purpose is your reason for being here in the Air Force, and and the feeling that you are valuable and valued. Purpose helps you remember you’re part of something bigger than yourself, and striving toward something better. This could be commitment to supporting a family, serving your country, or spirituality. Especially when things get tough, having a purpose keeps people committed.
Balance - We find Balance through friends and activities that help us to de-stress, keep perspective and level out. These can be healthy R & R activities and anything helps us to step back and re-group.
Guidance is learning from people we respect, who have more experience or a different perspective. This can be a mentor, a parent, or a professional counselor.
