"Joybook is a supportive online community and learning space. Grab your journal, and come discover a soulful approach to managing your time and creating your Beautiful Life." This logo is for a new membership website that includes resources like educational videos, journaling prompts, worksheets, and guided meditations — as well as community features like forums, live group coaching, and accountability partners. Journaling (including but not limited to bullet journaling) is an important part of the focus, but there's a lot more than that here. The site content falls into four categories — Managing Yourself (e.g., self-awareness, self-care, self-motivation), Managing Your Environment (social, physical, and technological), Managing Your Tasks (simplifying, prioritizing, scheduling, etc.), and Living Your Beautiful Life (mindfulness, meaning, etc.) In the words of one customer, this content is the "perfect blend of the soulful and the tactical". It's about getting things done — but more importantly it's about getting the *right* things done (i.e., what matters most to you), and doing so in a way that honors and enriches you and your life. For some people that can look like a spiritual/religious path, but for others it's more a psychological journey of developing a healthier relationship with themselves or just about more fully enjoying life. The audience is largely female, ranging in age from 20's to 70+. It includes working professionals, stay-at-home moms, and retirees. What they all have in common is wanting an approach to time/life management that focuses on fulfillment and self-realization vs. a more competitive, "crush your goals" kind of approach. Outer accomplishments matter, but they have to feel authentic and personally meaningful. My typical audience member is overwhelmed and over-committed — and she's coming to Joybook to find a clear, simple, affirming path toward a life that has more room for HER in it. Some key words that describe the brand: warm, affirming, optimistic, soulful, community, creative, intelligent, clarity, well-being. What the brand is not: religious, "woo woo," academic, intellectual, guru, competitive, aggressive, exclusive, elite.
These are the colors I'm using in my branding: Green = #aabbee Green-Yellow (used infrequently) = #eedd00 Canary-Yellow = #ffcc00 Orange = #e57800 Russet = #bb5500 Plum = #990066 Blue = #3684b8 Greys = #bbbbbb, #7f7f7f, #4b4b4b
A little more info about what I'm looking for... (1) This is an offering from See Change Studio, an existing brand. The logo should be different but should harmonize with the existing logo/branding. See uploads. Note the frequent use of circular motifs. (2) I'm looking for a horizontal layout that can be used in a website header — but with a stand-alone brandmark that can be used elsewhere in my branding (e.g., in the corner of PPT slides) — as in the See Change Studio logo examples I uploaded. (3) The logo/mark should lend itself to use in different colors to correspond to different categories of content on the site. (For instance, with my current logo, the square behind the yellow icon can be different colors in different contexts.) (4) I'm looking for something pretty clean and minimal — to echo the simplicity my audience is seeking — but that is friendly and suggests a hint of creative spirit — and that reflects the "blend of the soulful and the tactical" in what I'm offering. The ideal logo might have the word "joybook" in a roundish lower-case sans serif font accompanied by a simple mark that looks organic or hand drawn — a contrast of hard(ish) vs. soft, structured vs. free. Or it might alter one of the letters in "joybook" to look hand drawn/painted (possibly incorporating a subtle visual metaphor) in contrast to the other letters in the word; in this case, the altered letter would be capable of being used as a stand-alone brandmark — either as-is or superimposed on a circle in one of the brand colors. See uploaded sketches. (5) A logo that gracefully incorporates references to both journal writing (e.g., pen, ink, notebook) and to time management (e.g., clock, calendar, to-do list) would be ideal. However, a logo incorporating just one of these — or other imagery symbolizing positive change, personal growth, self-actualization, and/or well-being — might also be viable. Any imagery you incorporate should be fairly abstracted. (6) Please avoid imagery that has any associations that are explicitly spiritual or religious — including anything you might typically see associated with yoga or Eastern philosophy (e.g., lotus flower, yin-yang, mandalas). (7) For your reference (not a requirement), here are the fonts I'm using these days on my platforms: Open Sans and/or Helvetica (regular and light). Roboto. Kalam. Nixie One. Playlist Script.
