We like simple logos, only a few colours. We like red trim (Alizarin) because it reminds us of high end camera gear (!) and passion and a bit of edginess. We like the simpleness of a flat look similar to a font-awesome icon style.
We aim to explore the splinter that exists in the minds of the people we film. Why they are driven to do things that everyone else thinks are weird. Why they believe.
The word "Splinter" in Splinter Productions comes from the Morpheus quote from The Matrix film: "Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad."
Would prefer designs to show the "splinter in your mind" aspect, and do not want anything obviously "camera" related like an actual camera or a film strip or a clapper.
Initial thought was a smilie face with a power bar in it, with an expression of wonderment, i.e. a cross between the smillie face icon and a power-on icon.
Lato font is used extensively in our web site and documents. (http://splinter.productions/)
Open to any ideas.
