The name of the business "Bizivity" is the mixture of business plus creativity I want the logo to reflect that. The merging of two (usually) opposing forces and the amazing results that can come from blending the two together. No longer is is right brain versus left brain...the opposing forces are blending together more and more every day.
Originally we were thinking of somehow incorporating the lightbulb concept, but I'm not so sure about that. If it's done artistically and creatively...that might still be okay. I just don't like the clip-art look. I also love negative white space as part of logos...so that's another idea for you to consider.
Whatever the case...have some fun with this! I'm not set in a particular direction at the moment so I'm open to new ideas and concepts. Let your creativity shine. The colors I submitted (see aaron brothers image and the .doc file for color inspiration) are just an idea...something I saw and loved. But if you have your own idea...go for it. In every way. Surprise me. Impress me. It could very well be the beginning of a promising business relationship for years to come.
The winning designer (and anyone else that makes me say "wow") will more than likely get a great deal of 1 on 1 business in the future, not to mention the chance to compete for future contests using the Pro Tools suite. I only have 3 designers on staff currently and am in need of more soon (both graphic as well as web) . If all goes well here it could really benefit us all. Part of my reason for coming to 99designs for my own logo is to see exactly what is possible with this format/system and how I can use it in the future.
If anyone has any questions, comments, suggestions, etc, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll be as involved as needed but also want to leave a decent amount of creative freedom for you all to do your thing. Have fun with it...the results are always better if you do.
***edited to add***
I just thought of a couple of things I forgot to mention. One idea/concept we were throwing around was to have a design that somehow highlights/distinguishes "biz" from "ivity". So that "Biz" is more business like and the "ivity" is more fun and creative. Maybe done with colors, type, design, background, whatever. I still would want one word there.
Also, I forgot to put down a couple of phrases/taglines that may or may not be featured on our website/collateral.
"Business Plus Creativity"
"Sometimes...you just gotta get a little creative."
Just a few more ideas for you all to work with. Whatever the case, I really hope to capture the whole concept of bringing together two things that are often considered different and opposing philosophies.
p.s. posted this in the comments too.
