Wie Anything Digital das erste logo design Abenteuer antrat
We are a small team out to conquer the complicated world of video transcoding on the Apple OS X platform. We have created a very efficient application that will transcode videos from one format to the other easily and quickly. The application features a host of pre-sets for popular devices such as Apple TV, iPad, iPhone, Xbox, PSP as well as generic formats (AVI, Quicktime, WMV, etc...).
The application is open-source, GPL-licensed and very, very fast making full use of modern multi-core processors.
While this space is very crowded in Windows, there are only about a dozen real competitors for OS X and we want BusyBoy to stand out from the pack.
Erzählen Sie uns, wer Sie sind und wen Sie erreichen wollen?
We have a very broad base of users, though our application will only operate on OS X. Typical users would be anyone who wants to put their videos on various mobile devices and platforms as described above. We have designed the BusyBoy interface to be friendly to new OS X users but also have the flexibility and power to be the preferred tool for expert users.
We do not expect BusyBoy to be popular among video professionals, but rather new users, intermediate users and high-level amateurs.
We require a logo to represent the BusyBoy application in numerous places including the program interface, the OS X dock and the BusyBoy web site. The logo can contain gradients and such but non-gradient and black/white versions of the logo are also required. The logo will consist of an icon as well as the text ‘BusyBoy’.
Final deliverable will include Native Illustrator files and any fonts used in the creation of the logo.
We are excited to see artistic license in this contest, but consider the “busy” in BusyBoy as an important design concept (the ‘busy’ part comes from the multi-core processor support that makes BusyBoy so fast!).
Also, we do not want any inverted letters or any punctuation. Icons consisting of “discs” (as in a DVD disc for example) are also not desired.
Finally, please note the lack of punctuation and spelling of the brand name (which is one word): BusyBoy
