Require new logo for hotelsreviewed.com which is easily readable and identifiable. A simple logo based on 'hotelsreviewed.com' with an icon added on left of site name perhaps. The site is a hub for hotel data and, ideally, icon should reflect this.
Desired Color Scheme:
simple and bold
Accepted File Formats:
Colour-scheme will be dependent on red background colour of page header - see existing header at http://www.hotelsreviewed.com - hex value is #FF0066.
Currently, the logo is just the site name within a speech-bubble. Ideally I'd like to keep the speech-bubble (maybe integrated into the 'o'?).
I have seen a few styles which I like - listed below - but feel free to submit your own ideas.
Styles I like:
- like the colours used;
- icon top-left placement - but smaller icon.
Logo needs to be 'reversible' ie one version can be shown on site against red background, other version can be shown on web and in print against a white background.
Ideas for icon -
1. Hub. I seem to remember a logo, possibly the old SitePoint logo, which consisted of a small circle inside a larger circle. The larger circle was in fact made up of 4 arrow heads. The tails radiated outwards. The tails were too narrow for my liking, but the arrowheads forming a circle is something I like. But 3 or 5 arrows, not 4. 3 would be simpler, but a bit more difficult to achieve probably.
2. Speech bubble circle. A circle which is actually made up of 3 or 5 speech bubbles, with the tails radiating from the centre. Think of the Yin/Yang symbol but with 3/5 parts instead of just 2. Keeps with the hub idea, and also integrates the speech bubbles (opinions).
3. Hurricane. Now I realise that this might have negative connotations in the US, but as the site is aimed at the European market, this should not be a problem. The idea is to have arcs make a circle, with the arcs all radiating from the centre. Hurricane evokes idea of power, with all lines going into the center, as opposed to coming out. I like this idea - site relies on input too.
Hope these ideas help.
