Bite-size Taiwanese is a brand new podcast, giving listeners a taste of real, everyday Taiwanese. Our podcast episodes lets listeners learn the Taiwanese language in short, manageable bite-sized chunks with fun, playful insights into the culture. (Fact: Taiwanese is a language that is also sometimes referred to as Hokkien or Southern Min, and spoken by a majority of people in Taiwan).
Unfortunately, Taiwanese is seen by many young people as a language used mainly by older generations, and not relevant to contemporary life. Our brand hopes to refashion this image and show that Taiwanese can definitely be part of a youthful, pop culture.
Our accompanying blog will connect language learners from all over the world to the latest trends and content emerging from the local music, film/tv, and food scenes.
We’re hoping to connect with not only those who may have some Taiwanese heritage and want to learn the language, but also anyone curious and hoping to discover a vibrant Taiwanese culture that rarely gets covered in the international travel media.
Our English-language podcast and blog will initially focus on the North American market. Our target audience is students and young professionals in the 18-35 age range who are eager to explore the language, music, film, food of other cultures.
