I'm looking for new direct mail materials. I've seen my response rate decline the in past 12-18 months, with both older designs and new concepts. I would like something that is formatted as a one-page flyer or tri-fold self-mailer, with a design or message that can be adapted to a postcard.
When we send out direct mail we are prospecting for small business owners who are ready to sell their businesses and willing to hire a business broker to sell it for them. I have found that you can't convince someone to sell if they are not ready, so the focus should not be on convincing people that they need to sell and instead on either getting those who are ready to sell to call us, or beginning a relationship with a future client with the idea of allowing them to get to know us now so they hire us when they are ready.
I will attach our logo and samples of other pieces we have used. Please use full creative license. We typically use blue because that is our logo color, but we are not married to any color, style, or theme.
Most of our clients own either B2B or professional-type businesses (e.g. healthcare practices), though we have seen an uptick in interest from B2C and web businesses recently. Ideally, I'd like something versatile enough for any of these audiences, though would lean to the more professional business owner if forced to choose.
Key messages we use (but not always so don't feel the need to include any/all):
- our team has completed over 300 transactions
- you need to focus on running your business while we focus on selling your business, otherwise one of the two will suffer
- we can sell a business for more money, in less times, with better terms, than an owner can on their own
- we have the ability to confidentially market a business to a national audience and screen buyers so we only talk to the most qualified
