After each speech, I would like to give a 4x6 postcard to everyone in the audience... one side is a motivational message and the other side is instructions for how they can bring me in to speak at another event.
That is what you will be designing! This will NOT be mailed, so you are not going to make this a mailing postcard.
Side 1: This is a motivational 'recap' of my speech. You may have seen the 'This is Your Life' posters like this
I'd like for you to take this text and create a similar 'look and feel.'
What's Your Everest?
Pick a Summit. Choose lofty goals that spark you to life. You are greater than you give yourself credit for, so dream big. Engineer joy by defining success for yourself. Have the courage to pursue life's best.
Gear Up. Create a plan and stick to it. Commit. Prepare perfectly to create perfect performance. Find mentors, read books, and learn everything there is to know about your dream. Visualize yourself on top every single day.
Climb On! Go for it with everything you've got. The mountains will never lower themselves to your level; you must rise up to the demands presented to you by the climb. Galvanize your heart and confront your fears. Even when it feels impossible, put one foot in front of the other. Take that impossible step. Earn the life that you want to call your own.
"The Climb On Success Formula" C John Beede International, Inc. - http://www.climbonsuccess.com
(note: this should be small and at the bottom. C should be the copyright symbol)
I will leave the layout and font selection up to you, but "What's Your Everest," "Pick a Summit," "Gear Up," and "Climb On!" should be larger than the other text. Note: This *might* be too much text, and if so, I will make a note in the contest with the amended text.
I am open to a border around the text or perhaps even a very light mountain in the background/above/below. I've included a photo of Mt. Everest that can optionally be used here.
This side is VERY important! It's the whole reason for the card! I've attached several photos that can be used here... this should look uncluttered and clean, should include a photo of me speaking AND a photo of me climbing, and the fonts should be fun and inviting.
Text at top:
"Heck Yeah! I saw Everest summiter John Beede present at the NASC conference and it was awesome! I can't wait to bring him to have him speak at my state conference, assembly, or any other event!"
(NOTE: include the quotes, and underline 'can't wait' with a red squiggly magic marker)
Sound like you? Then just do these 3 things:
(NOTE: This should be hilighted, as though with a yellow hilighter marker)
1) Tell your advisor, principal or decision maker, "There's an awesome speaker who we HAVE to bring to our conference! His name is John Beede and he climbed Mt. Everest!"
2) Give your advisor my phone number, website, and email address. Then say, "he will work with us on price, but he's very busy, so get in touch soon!
(NOTE: Underline soon with a red marker)
3) Email email@example.com, say 'hi' and tell me your advisor's name. That way, I can keep an eye out for their email or call. Don't be shy! I'll even write you back :-)
Together we can change make a huge difference!
