Desired Color Scheme:
Blog Text MUST be on WHITE background
Simple and easy enough to use that my grandmother could figure out where the buttons are to click. I want a straightforward and prominent navigation bar across the top.
The design should be clean, simple, and obviously have some feel of NYC in it.
The website should have a persistent top-level nav-bar (at the top of the screen and going across horizontally) that includes the following 3 main navigation links, but should have a design flexibility to have a 4th link at some point in the future.
Home - NYC Blogs - Add Your Blog
The Home Page
This primary content here that should up-front and center is a long, scrolling page of blog headlines, and blog excerpts. The text of the blog entries should be dark against a white background. (Let me give you an example, the text in brackets is my explanation)
Donald Trump Seen Kissing Beauty Pageant [headline, should be large font]
posted by JoeTheBlogger [JoeTheBlogger] should be hyperlinked
Yes, really I was walking the other day and along came the Donald with a bunch of girls in bikinis and I had to stop and gawk and yelled out to him, hey man, you gonna fire these girls or what and he looked at me then he grabbed one of the girls and starting macking out with....(click here to read the rest of this blog post) [thts the excerpt from a blog and it will link to that particular blog]
There will be up to 25 or so of these on the home page and then a link to previous days archives.
There can be a smaller second column on the left or right-side of the above, that can feature some other related content:
1. An email box with a subscription link that says, "get the top nyc blog headlines in your email"
2. A space for "hot links"
3. A space for photos which will be a "flickr badge" featuring nyc photos, etc.
4. Search this site box.
If you have other ideas, feel free to express them.
