I am designing a puzzle-adventure video game based on the concept of synesthesia and I need a sprite sheet of the main character.
Synesthesia is an ability some people have where their senses overlap, and in my case I am focusing particularly on sight and sound. When the main character hears music, he sees beautiful colors. He uses his ability to solve puzzles, help musicians, and bring the joy and color back into his world.

I need a sprite sheet of the main character designed.
NOTE: For the preliminary round, it is okay to provide only one or two frames to get a sense of how your painting style is.
There should be up, down, left and right walking and running animations with at least 12 or so frames per animation loop (enough so that it look very smooth). There should also be one or two idle animations like a blink or a sigh or something like that.
I need a frame of the character in each of the positions (up, down, left right) cupping his hands and blowing into them as he whistles, and one as he plays a tin (penny) whistle.
I also need animations of the character picking something up, and reaching out and flipping a switch.
Ideally all frames of the animations would be spread out evenly on the sheet as if they were put in boxes flowing from the top-left of the image with even spacing between them.

The game has a very hand-painted and hand-drawn animation style to it. It will be similar to Braid in art style (moving painting):

The main character is a boy with synesthesia. Refer to the attached image for how he looks. As for a closeup of how I would like the character designed, refer to this sprite sheet of the main character for Braid:

Note the painted style of the character. This probably has more frames than necessary for a running animation, but as always the more frames, the better. Use your best judgement.
Also, this is just a preliminary design; I will need more sprite sheets in a similar style in the near future, and I will pay and contact the winner of the contest for more work if possible.
It may be best to upload at least one of the animations in a .gif format in order to see how well it flows in one image instead of having to stitch them together mentally.
