Taarof is a modern Persian fast food restaurant. We offer sandwiches, rice bowls, and salads. Our menu is for anyone who wants to have a delicious lunch, dinner or late night snack with a better price, bigger portions, and faster service than the competition.
Due to Covid, our restaurant will have a big segment of its sales from online apps and takeout. So our branding and packaging is of the upmost importance and is what we will rely on to introduce our brand to the public.
Our room design and esthetic is to be loud and colorful, with a nod to 60's and 70's design aesthetics. So much so, that if you see us from across the street, you will be automatically drawn to our storefront. That, along with the enticing aromas of roasted chicken and meat to pull people in.
If you are the candidate chosen by us, we will most probably be using you for our packaging design and more.

Our color palette is inspired from the beautiful colors found in the mosques in Iran. Not afraid to be bold and colorful, these places along with our restaurant are unashamed to be bright, engaging and vibrant, much like the culture.
Our restaurant design will share the same bright and colorful palette with color blocking. We will be simplifying the designs, by using the colors in the tiles as insipiration. However, we want to modernize the look and feel. We would accomplish this by using the colors in a 60's inspired mod design. please see pics attached.
There are 2 pictures of the Khorshid Khanoom, a Persian woman with a round face and unibrow. This is often found in Iranian art and we would like to incorporate a simplified version in our Logo.. the 2 pictures are labelled: packaging and Khorshid Khanoom.
We want it to be more minimalistic and stylized, less of a tracing or copy. The use of her picture would be like how Starbucks uses the mermaid. The key elements of her popularity are the unibrow and the round face and big eyes.
Please keep in mind that the logo needs to be simple, as we will be using in in stickers, business cards and merch. Also, we would like to emphasize that this is a fast food concept. So keep it Fun, playful and simple.
